Software Engineering Student Center at University of Minho

The year was 1995, and the Bachelor's Degree in Systems and Informatics Engineering (LESI) at UM was ongoing. (...) It was in this context that a group of 3rd-year students asked the Course Directorate (DC), which I was leading at the time, for support to officially create a Student Center. (...) From that moment on, the journey of this student group began, which, 20 years later, still carries the same name and acronym, staying true to its purpose of promoting the course's image and defending the interests of its members.

What is CeSIUM?

CeSIUM is the Student Center for Software Engineering at the University of Minho, made up of a team of volunteer students, with the primary goal of representing and promoting the Computer Engineering course. It is a united and dynamic group, capable of providing enriching and unique experiences, thus complementing your academic life while never forgetting to prepare you for your future professional life.

We strive to organize activities with similar and complementary content to the course, as well as to promote and publicize leisure and socialization events among students and alumni. We also represent the collective interests of Software Engineering students before organizations or institutions to ensure their academic journey is more fulfilling.

CeSIUM wouldn't exist without our incredible team, which works every day to keep the group running and make students' years in the course unique. Meet them here.
We operate with 5 departments that focus on the different areas of our activities as a core. Get to know them here.
